Being a PUM Trainer Intercultural Communication

We are seeking an experienced colleague to join our team of trainers, in total seven members. The training material is already in place, but you will be expected to contribute to its further development. Training sessions are conducted both online via Teams and in person at our office in The Hague. Your schedule will be determined based on your availability, with an average expectation of delivering seven training sessions per year alongside a second trainer. Online training sessions last two hours, while in-person sessions span six hours and include coffee, tea, and lunch. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Giving the “advising in cultural context” training seven times a year.

  • Further developing of the training material.

  • Evaluation of the training programme (team meeting twice a year).

  • Carrying out meaningful work.   

Ins and outs of the Trainer Intercultural Communication

The trainers’ role is a volunteer position. For this role, we can only consider applicants based in the Netherlands. Prescreening is part of the selection process. Who are you?

  • You are an authentic, driven, and communicative professional with a strong intercultural sensitivity and a good eye for people.

  • You have professional experience in working with diverse cultures.

  • You are experienced in training a diverse and international group of people/volunteers

  • You have an affinity with SMEs and knowledge of and experience in the world of development cooperation.

  • You have proficiency in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

  • You are very comfortable with digital tools, including Microsoft 365.
