PUM expert helps put Zambian hotels on the map with online marketing

Aid & Trade

Excellent reviews, a clear website and active social media channels, it all weighs in when deciding whether or not to book a hotel. PUM expert Hugo Lingeman gives online marketing training at lodges and hotels in Livingstone, Zambia. The training is part of a collaboration between PUM and the Livingstone Tourism Association, which aims to strengthen the tourism sector in Livingstone.

A three-day training forms the basis of Hugo's advisory missons, with attention for "story telling" in text and image, setting up your own website, the active use of social media and visibility on Google and other online channels such as TripAdvisor and Booking.

After the training, the participating companies receive one-on-one guidance to put what they have learned into practice. For one company it can mean that they have created a new website afterwards, for others it means the implementation of an improved "story" or the strengthening of their ties with (potential) customers via social media. A number of them manage to realize all the parts in the limited number of days available. Expert Hugo Lingeman continues to support companies from the Netherlands through remote coaching.
