PUM and Quesos Salinero: a match made in heaven

Quesos Salinero, located in San Pedro de Los Milagros in Antioquia, Colombia, operates a well-established cheese-making factory. The company’s main products include special yoghurts and soft cheeses. Over the past four years, they have cultivated a loyal clientele, but have faced challenges in streamlining their production processes, enhancing quality control, and expanding their knowledge on how to produce hard cheeses. To overcome these challenges, Quesos Salinero partnered with PUM through the alliance established with the Antioquia Development Institute (IDEA).
PUM expert Dominicus Ketelaar, who brings over 40 years of cheese-making experience, has been working closely with Quesos Salinero. Together with owner Laura Arenas and her dedicated team, they have implemented new knowledge, tips, and techniques that are taking the overall level of production at the factory to new heights.
Key Benefits of this Collaboration:
- Economic Growth: With the introduction of more efficient production protocols, Quesos Salinero has significantly increased its productivity. By expanding the variety of cheeses and other dairy products, the company has reduced costs and boosted sales, making them more competitive in the market.
- Social Impact: As sales continue to grow and attract more clients, Quesos Salinero is now poised to hire additional staff in the near future, creating new job opportunities and contributing to the local economy.
This collaboration with PUM is not only enhancing Quesos Salinero’s production capabilities but also setting the stage for a more competitive, socially responsible, and sustainable business model moving forward.
